Life Goes On

It's now two weeks since the election. Yes, I was disappointed about the outcome, extremely so. I had worked very hard seeking different results but, alas, to little, or no avail. But, as we all get to experience, life goes on. One of the great values for me in working on this campaign was the people I was able to meet. I truly valued getting to know, ever so briefly, the Palins and Sarah's family, the Heaths. I am grateful for the experience.

Nevada Day parade and the Palins

We participated yesterday in the Nevada Day parade in Carson City. Nevada Day is the celebration of the admittance to the union on October 31, 1864. Nevada happens to be the only state that has this type of celebration. The large crowd ignored the cold and occasional light rain and was very enthusiastic. Northern Nevada's numerous Republican women's clubs assembled, rode on, and walked behind a float supporting our Republican candidates for elected office. The float had a lady elephant holding a hockey stick. Jim and Fay Palin, the parents of Todd Palin, were guests of honor on our float. As it turned out, Mrs Palin decided that she would rather walk the route and "work the crowd". Her husband quickly joined in. In my opinion, they were very favorably received. We also had the opportunity to meet Sarah Palin's parents, the Heaths. We all were immediately very close friends and thought each was the nicest person. We feel very fortunate. This seems to happ
